  The ‘Johnnie’ Johnson mural in Loughborough is a massive artwork celebrating one of the town’s most renowned sons, the legendary Air Vice Marshal James Edgar ‘Johnnie’ Johnson . Located at the junction of New King Street and Great Central Road, this dramatic piece honours the RAF Spitfire pilot Johnnie who shot down more enemy aircraft than any other Allied fighter pilot during World War II .

  A street art collaboration between Leicester's Graffwerk and Global Street Art to promote the Netflix documentary Untold UK Jamie Vardy . On a wall alongside the Haymarket Bus Station in Leicester , a large artwork has been unveiled featuring former Leicester City Football Club legend Jamie Vardy in the form of an action figure with various shenanigans and accessories, including an energy drink, a broken corner flag, and a football. The Vardy figure is seen cupping his hands behind his ears, a pose he is known for doing on the pitch to fans in the stands. The work itself is a promotion for the Netflix documentary Untold UK, telling the story of Jamie’s career highlights, and As Seen On Netflix is written large on the packaging. The Sculptural Gateway on Belgrave Circle in Leicester is a piece of public art commemorating the 50th anniversary of Ugandan Asian migration to the city. Midlands-based artist Anuradha Patel was commissioned to create the sculpture marking the anniversary of the arrival into Leicester of thousands of Ugandan Asians fleeing the dictator Idi Amin. The work consists of a commemorative archway formed from intertwining strands of bright coloured powder coated metal featuring cut outs of animals flowers and other significant outlines, the design was chosen from a number of shortlisted designs by a panel which included Leicester City Mayor Sir Peter Soulsby, Chair of Belgrave Neighbourhood Co-operative Housing Association (BNCHA) Jaimini Bharakhada, BBC Radio Leicester broadcaster Rupal Rajani, along with the city council’s Anne Provan and Jo Jones, head of Leicester’s Museums and Arts service.  

After successful displays of Museum Of The Moon and Gaia aka Earth, (See previous videos on this website), Artist  Luke Jerram brings Mars War & Peace to the Leicester Cathedral . The #MarsArtwork, Like his previous pieces uses high resolution images of the planets surface mapped in scale onto a inflated sphere giving the viewer a sense of the grandeur and scale of the real planet and a chance in this sacred space to contemplate our place in the universe. Leicester Cathedral has always lead the way in hosting artworks within it's impressive space, a beautiful space, recently refurbished and extended, that with it`s tall stone columns, roof held up by golden angels and own grandeur complements the other worldly artwork hanging inside. Mars War & Peace is at the Leicester Cathedral from 16th May - 8th June 2025.

The Knife Angel (also known as National Monument Against Violence and aggression) by artist Alfie Bradley and the British Ironworks Centre, reaches Nuneaton on it`s tour of the country. Formed from 100,000 knives collected anonymously in amnesties the artwork stands at 27 ft tall and aims to educate people on the harmful effect of violent behavior on their communities. My film shows the artwork towering over the marketplace in the town and shining in the evening sunset.

A artwork celebrating the achievements of England Rugby player Emily Scarratt has been created on one side of the Leicester Forest RFC clubhouse.     Emily, who was born and raised in Leicester, has become England's record points scorer and is at the time of publication the Vice-Captain of the national team, In 2021 she was awarded an MBE for her service to the Rugby Union.  The mural, created by renowned street art collective MurWalls, is situated at Leicester Forest RFC where Emily had her first experience of the game aged just 5 years old and is one of several around the country dedicated to the team including Red Roses captain Sarah Hunter in Newcastle and Shaunagh Brown in London, the aim of the works is to inspire the next generation to try the sport and increase awareness of the women's game.   #teamdream 

An Art Deco cinema of the past provided inspiration for artists MONO and Richard Peacock when creating a mural on Leicester`s newest street, Savoy Street. The Savoy Theater, later known as the ABC, stood for 70 years on Belgrave Gate and was a popular location for many generations of Leicester residents. The venue was demolished by its owners on 2007 after laying empty for several years. Artists from Leicester based Graffwerk used playbills from the Savoy and two other long gone venues along Belgrave Gate, The Floral Hall and Palace Theater to create the mural which spans three buildings along the newly created Savoy Street designed for use by Busses, Taxis and Pedestrians and linking Belgrave Gate with Mansfield Street.

Built to Burn. Designed to Heal. Sanctuary, A Memorial for the Nation is (was) an artwork situated in the town of Bedworth and created by American artist David Best. The piece is designed to act as a temporary structure and memorial to those lost during the last few years, the intricate wooden structure is created in collaboration with the local community and offers opportunities to develop carpentry skills and more. Artist David Best is known for his 'Temples' at Burning Man Festival in the Black Rock Desert in Nevada, his vision is for the work is for it to be a healing space for everyone to come together after a challenging two years. Leicester was transformed for 4 evenings (3rd - 6th March 2022) as Light Up Leicester returned to the City streets bigger and better than ever with a number of artworks each with their own style placed around the city.  Starting in the Cities Cultural Quarter we see the giant figures of "Fantastic Planet" by Parer Studio towering over visitors in Orton Square, alongside and next up in St George`s Churchyard are the Alien Pods of "The Mycelium Network" by LuminARTi pulsing and communicating with each other in the trees. Moving onto Humberstone Gate four "trees" have taken root and change colour to the sound of chimes in "Luminosi Trees" by Sound Intervention. To Leicester`s Clock Tower now which has been transformed by Studio Vertigo`s "Our Beating Heart", into a scene that wouldn't look out of place on BBC`s Strictly Come Dancing with two glittering revolving heart shaped mirror balls casting ballroom style points of light onto ...

  A wall of New Parks Club in Leicester gets a makeover with a Mural depicting some of the city's sporting successes, including Leicester City Football Club winning the FA Cup and Mark Selby Current World Snooker Champion (at time of publication). The artwork was created by RUELO for Graffwerk, Funded and Supported by The Vichai Foundation, LCFC in the Community and Leicester Fire And Rescue Service.

As England prepared to meet Italy in a historic Euro 2020 Final at Wembley Stadium in London, 106 miles away in the market town of Nuneaton an artist was commissioned to create an artwork depicting Manager Gareth Southgate, Harry Kane and Raheem Sterling. "Three Lions On A Wall" artwork was created by local artists Nathan Parker aka 'N4T4' and James Bennett. The project is the brainchild of Kate and Paul Williams who live in the property above the work. The project also has a fundraising element, with money donated going toward the purchase of a defibrillator to be donated to a local sporting team, a response to a device that saved Denmark midfielder Christian Eriksen earlier in Euro 2020. A closer look at one of the many artists creating work at Leicesters Bring The Paint street art festival. Insane 51 creates what could be described as 2 in 1 pieces which change depending on which side of RED/BLUE 3D glasses they are viewed through. As part of Bring The Paint the artist created a piece on the GraffHQ building which featured a man firing an arrow and an alternative skeletal X-Ray style version of the same. My video aims to show the clever effect but its thoroughly recommended to witness it in person.

Established in 2017 Leicesters award winning festival of Street Art Bring The Paint returned bigger and better for 2019, with artists from around the world transforming city buildings with their unique artwork. In my film I take a look at a selection of the works in progress at various locations around the city, including a colorful abstract piece on Matrix House. In the cultural quarter of the city I find a warehouse full of spectacular works in varying styles from a variety of street artists. Over near the Frog Island HQ of Graffwerk over a mile of hoardings featuring further pieces can be found with themes varying from nature to star wars and more. Back in the cultural quarter and we find a fiery piece adorning the shutters of a garage and a large piece by 1up collective, also seen in the film are pieces in St Mathews, Highcross shopping center and other parts of the city making this a truly city wide festival of Street art. ...
