  The call went out to the residents of Newbold Verdon... Welcome to the first Light Up Newbold !. In a challenging year to bring Christmas cheer the residents and businesses of the Leicestershire village of Newbold Verdon where invited to decorate their houses and turn the village into a fantastically festive winter wonderland, they certainly rose to the challenge. I was tasked with documenting as many of the displays as possible this slideshow of images features just a selection of the multitude of displays around the village, to see more please search "light up Newbold Verdon" on social media or look for the hashtag #LightUpNV.  (Displays where selected for inclusion randomly and all images where taken from the public highway with government restrictions adhered to).

  Just before Christmas in a difficult year, Santa, in Newbold Verdon with his sleigh did appear. With help from some firefighters he traveled each street, he brought festive cheer, a true christmas treat.  In 2020 santa and his sleigh made a socially distanced visit to the Village of Newbold Verdon, We join him on the main road as he enters the village with help from (Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Service Market Bosworth), who then guided him on a tour of the village. Children, Families and others watched from a safe distance on the pavement or from upstairs windows waving and bringing festive cheer as he passed by.

Could artwork under motorway bridge be Banksy ?.  In December 2020 Street Art appeared under a Leicestershire bridge, the work bore many similarities with the work of well known international Street artist Banksy. The work depicts the evolution of man ending with a businessman in a suit holding a briefcase and wearing a blue mask that provides the only colour on an otherwise black and white stenciled artwork. My short film and images take a look at the work and it's surrounding area and invites the viewer to decide for themselves if the work is by the artist or not. At the time of publication the artwork has not yet been claimed by the artist on his Instagram account as is the usual for his works so the question remains, Banksy ?.
