Spinning, Spiraling high above the crowd Heliosphere is presented by the Dream Engine and was the finale to a week of events at Leicester City Festival 2019. During the performance an acrobat suspended beneath a helium balloon explores the uncharted space between street level and rooftops creating the illusion of flying. The performer can go from street level to twenty meters up in a mere moment making for a dynamic and interactive show for the audience. We join the performer and ground crew setting up before she rises into the sky, then marvel as the large helium balloon eclipse the evening sun over Jubilee Square in Leicester what a view of the city she must have from such a height. As she descends to street level children race to give her a (very) high five before she soars high above their heads and performs acrobatic moves. A look a a selection of the acts and performers at Leicester`s annual City Festival. Now a firm highlight of the summer the city festival features performances from a number of touring groups and has a theme each year, 2019`s theme was "out of this world" to coincide with the Apollo 11 50th anniversary and featured aliens, Super Heroes and Robots among other things.

Now in its 22nd year the Leicester Riverside Festival took place over the weekend of 1st-2nd June, featuring narrow boats traveling along the river, water sports, street food and a wide program of music acts the festival is fun for the whole family. My film features a look around the festival and features the Bill Bailey band on their 'Jazz Boat' an act so synonymous with the festival it would seem strange not to hear their sound in the air during the festival. The rain on the Sunday that I visited did nothing to stop visitors enjoying a day by the riverside.
