Just take a ride upon the busses !, could it be a long lost episode of a 70`s sitcom about bus drivers ?, No its Statbus, at night. Thanks to the Transport Museum Wythall the Statfold Country Park and Railway played host to a wide selection of restored, vintage and modern buses and coaches from across the country. We start the fun with a line up of various buses as one departs proudly declaring "It`s Best By Omnibus" along it's side, the green and cream vintage bus is soon joined by a brown bus before both head off on a shuttle service to local towns. Next up is a brightly painted bus from the Isle Of Man its unique shape and design a regular sight for islanders once upon a time. The Manx bus in red and yellow sits beside a midland red single decker making for a complementary pairing. Over at the railway and bridging the gap between bus and railway is the `Goose' a strange hybrid of locomotive and bus on rails. As the Goose waits at the station a small steam engine ...

The spectacular sight of thousands of Starlings in a Murmuration is one of natures great sights the birds seeming to move as one creating shapes in the evening sky. Mother nature chose the village of Thrussington in Leicestershire as a stage one dull, slightly damp evening in February host to this spectacular show, and what a show !. As we approached the village a swirling mass of small birds rose up behind the Star Inn and as we parked up at the village green they moved together above us creating a flowing living mass of tiny birds filing the sky. The shapes they formed flowed into each other each tiny bird swooping and moving like a dancer in the most beautifully choreographed ballet, but this is a dance lead by nature that could never be taught. We make our way out of the village for an overview of the display and are not disappointed with the Church and village providing a stage and set worthy of any found in the west end. The Leicestershire Cyclocross League rolls into a very Muddy Mallory Park racetrack for the last races of the season . We join the action, as usual, at the pits as the riders and teams prep the bikes for a days racing out on the course there`s always some action going on as the busy programme of racing for all ages continues. Back at the start and with the All Saints Church and Memorial to Ada Lovelace as a back drop the names are called as the riders make their way to the start line. At the start the Church bell rings unintentionally signalling 1 minute to race start, and their off !!, The most daredevil group of wacky.. No wait wrong sport, although we are at a race track of course !. The Muddy Mallory conditions are evident as the race progresses with riders speeding past the pits and mud flying from the wheels of their bikes. As brakes squeal and they navigate the course the bell is rung to signal the last lap and the race winner pulls a wheelie as he crosses the finish line !. Wit...

In the second of my films from the Chinese New Year Celebrations 2025 in Leicester and delivered by cosmopolitan arts   we take to the streets of the city and bring the colours sounds and new year festival atmosphere to a route along high street the clock tower and to a firework finale in Town Hall Square. The fun begins in Jubilee Square where costumes parasols and the perennial favourite Panda costumes are handed out before the parade begins it`s route along Leicester High St, the gathered crowds follow the lions, dragons and other costumed characters (including the Pandas) along the route past the various well known shops of Leicester such as the newly opened This+That by local charity LOROSHospice  . At the clock tower we stop for a Lion dance before continuing to Town Hall Square where the number 48 arriva bus service meets with an unexpected obstacle in the form of a very naughty lion !.
