Let`s Ride Leicester 2019

6km of traffic-free 'open streets` await those taking part in Let`s Ride Leicester a free event with a focus on cycling. A route taking in The King Power Stadium, Leicester Castle, Leicester Cathedral and Jubilee Square features entertainment at various points from Jugglers to Drummers, Sambando, BMX Skills and more so there is something for everyone. Look out in the video for a man playing a Saxophone whilst being taken around the route in an adapted bike. My film follows the cyclists around the route and looks at some of the various stops around it.

Tour Of Britain - Nuneaton Start & Kenilworth Castle

I took a trip to #Nuneaton to see the start of stage 4 of the Tour of Britain. My film begins at the race village in Nuneaton town center where the various competing teams ready their bikes for the race and we see Connor Swift, Chris Froome and other pro-riders head to the start line for rider sign on. After the race begins we see the riders leave the town and head out on to the stage. We then pick up the action further on in #Kenilworth where the large castle provides a dramatic backdrop to the action. The stage finished in Royal Leamington Spa (not featured) and is part of the Tour Of Britain a countrywide cycle race held annually in various locations around Britain.

Leicester Castle Classic 2015

Highlights from the 2015 Ride Leicester Castle Classic Pro-Cycle Race around the streets Of Leicester taking in Leicester Castle, the Mile Straight, Bede Park and Leicesters Old Town. My film joins the teams as they warm up on the De Monfort University Campus before heading to the start line where City Mayor Sir Peter Soulsby starts the race. The film then follows the riders as they speed around the course and ends with presentations to the individual winners and teams. Images follow

Kirby Castle - Leicestershire

Kirby Castle is an unfinished 15th century fortified manor house in Kirby Muxloe, Leicestershire. Begun in 1480 by William Hastings, 1st Baron Hastings, during the period of the Wars of the Roses. He already owned a manor house on the site (some of the original manor house foundations are visible as ruins within the enclosure of the castle), for which he planned to totally redevelop. Work stopped at the castle when he was executed in 1483 for treason by Richard III and it was never completed. My film try`s to capture the spooky atmosphere and the history of the buildings remains which are now owned by English Heritage. Images follow.

Belvoir Lodge Open Gardens poster 2012

Designed for a charity fundraising event at Belvior Lodge this poster is primarily typeface lead with an Art Deco style header and a sans serif typeface for the additional information to giving it a formal but playful style. The text is crowned by sketched flowers (as one may see above an entry gate to an open garden) and features various small birds perched amoungst the foliage, a mother and child bird can be seen on the bottom left alongside the words accompanied children free. The poster uses a justified layout for the text allowing for lots of information to be presented in a clear and easily read form and highlighting the main points.
