Re/Action Festival 2025

The Re/Action festival returned to Leicester in 2025 filling the city centre with bold ideas, playful adventures and fresh creativity celebrating nature, community and the environment. My film explores the festival stating in Jubilee Square where we meet the giant Antman, Wasp and several giant butterflies of Urban Oasis by Neighbourhood Watch Stilts International. Next up the premiere of Spill by Gayatri Munogee a storytelling og the 2020 Wakashio oil spill a real life environmental tragedy that ends in hope and rebuilding. A look next at the creative corner where all sorts of amazing things are being created with a t-shirt swap and design area and more. We move onto festival regulars Highly Sprung with their look at the energy crisis in Accelerate. We end the film with the spectacular sign spinners of Mercurial Dance directing visitors to the various "hubs" of the festival.

The date sees 40 years since the iconic film Back To The Future premiered in theatres and started a fanchise that would include two more films animated series and more. To mark this milestone the talented Syston Knitting Banksy or SKB has recreated Doc Browns famous time machine in wool for a postbox topper !. Great Scott ! joining Dr Emmett Brown is Marty McFly in his instant;y recognisable red "Life Preserver" and denim, sitting casually on the hood of a faithfully recreated Delorean complete with open Gullwing door. around the edgfe of the topper we are encouraged to Save The Hill Valley CLock tower and what could be in that yellow box Doc ?.
