A look a a selection of the acts and performers at Leicester`s annual City Festival. Now a firm highlight of the summer the city festival features performances from a number of touring groups and has a theme each year, 2019`s theme was "out of this world" to coincide with the Apollo 11 50th anniversary and featured aliens, Super Heroes and Robots among other things.

There`s a strange being sat atop a phone box in Leicester city center and he`s brought along friends !. An interplanetary expedition of immigrants from outer space has landed in Leicester !. The aliens all belong to different species but as a reaction to the earths atmosphere they have gained a new protective color so the humans of earth don`t take them too seriously. Prepare yourself they come in Pink !. An interactive and adaptive street theater performance by Ljud see how the "aliens" use street furniture to tell their story and interact with Leicester residents. A poster designed by me for The Great Central Railway`s Sci-Fi weekend in September 2015. My brief was to design a poster that had 60`s science fiction influences echoing the era that saw the launch of British Sci-Fi shows like Doctor Who etc, The typeface was chosen for its futuristic style and the color scheme of reds and oranges reminiscent of the planet Mars (a favorite location of many a sci-fi writer). The background features a long exposure rotating star trail above a mountain range and three UFO`s with the lead craft beaming down its otherworldly inhabitants (named Kay-tee & Ju-Ells) to the planets surface to visit the event.
