Cosby Yarnbomb 2023, SHOWTIME

The Cosby Yarnbomb returns to the Leicestershire village for 2023 with a theme of SHOWTIME featuring everything from Dumbo to the Lion King, Mary Poppins even puts in a Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious appearance flying over knitted chimney tops with her famous umbrella. further along the nook we find a Peacock in all it`s glory and a full knitted sofa and lounge set complete with TV. Also featured throughout are Pigeons dressed appropriately for the display they sit beside or on !, we see them stealing sausages from the butchers and relaxing on the sofa etc, how many can you spot. My film shows a small selection of the full yarnbomb a visit to the event itself is thoroughly recommended.

Sunday Highlights, Journeys Festival International 2023

A look at performances on the second day of the Journeys Festival International 2023, unhindered by weather the festival moved back outside affording the larger acts a chance to perform with interactive pieces like The Relaxerette by Arjan Kruidhof offering rotating hammocks at the clock tower and a sea giant called Eko meeting the crowds in Out of the Deep Blue by Autin Dance Theatre. In Leicester old town the cathedral peregrine falcons can be heard as Kamchàtka by Kamchàtka Street Theatre Company explore and interact with people, places etc and learn about our city. We end with playground memories being rekindled on a large scale as The Swings by All Or Nothing bought a giant swing set to Jubilee Square.
