Steam With The Team, Abbey Pumping Station

Join the team from LMTA ( Leicester Museums Technology Association ) as they take us on a tour of Leicester`s Abbey Pumping Station and it`s spectacular Beam Engines. From top to bottom, the tour titled "Steam With The Team" takes us on a trip through history and the levels of these unique and awe inspiring feats of engineering. The various LMTA team members, in dress appropriate for the era, lead the group from the ornate and cathedral-esqe upper levels, down to the hissing, gushing, high pressure valve and gear filled basement areas, with the massive beam engines in constant movement above and around you really feel like your in the presence of a living breathing iron giant. This film is a taster of the full experience which can be booked on various dates throughout the year on the Leicester Museums website; www.leicestermuseums.org . To find out more about the LMTA and the work they do preserving and maintaining Leicesters industrial and technological heritage please vis...

The Falkirk Wheel

Opened in 2002 The Falkirk Wheel is a rotating boat lift in Scotland that connects the Forth and Clyde Canal with the Union Canal. My short film features a boat entering the wheel at the bottom before being lifted up to the aqueduct section above. The short was filmed from two angles giving the viewer a view of both sides of the wheel and a look at the workings of this impressive structure.

Menphys QR Code Campaign

I created a unique marketing campaign for Leicester charity Menphys. A poster featuring a large QR code was placed in the window of their fundraising office, when this code was scanned (with a compatible smart phone) it directed the person to the charity's official website detailing the charity's work. The window faced Narborough road a main route into the city of Leicester making the chance of interaction with the QR code by pedestrians very high,  The QR code has the potential to greatly raise the profile of the charity in the community it serves & substantially increase the chance of the person becoming an active fundraiser for the charity. The next step in this campaign will see the QR codes being extended across more of the charity's various media outputs providing a quick and easy way for interested people to find more information on an event or even donate directly to the charity though sms.
