Christmas Tree Festival 2025, Desford St Martin`s

With a theme of Past, Present and Future the St Martins Church in Desford held their annual Christmas Tree Festival . Join me as I enter the church and we hear the beautiful sound of the St Martin`s Church Choir as they sing a variety of traditional carols . Exploring the festival with trees designed and decorated by local residents, businesses and groups we are all the time accompanied by the choir. The festival also plays host to several craft stalls selling a variety of gifts and decorations. See if you can spot Mousey Brown hiding in the video. As the choir sing Night Divine we see a knitted interpretation of the nativity . Next we see various trees including one covered in records through the years. Knitted candles adorn another tree as we end the video with a rendition of Ding Dong Merrily On High from the choir.

The action then moves to the Clock Tower where Leicestershire Fire and Rescue service bring Rudolph and a well known bearded and red suited gentleman in his sleigh to spread some festive cheer. My film aims to offer a glimpse of the events many stalls and the atmosphere but is sadly unable to bring you the smells and tastes, for that you must attend the event itself which i thoroughly recommend.

Christmas at Covent Garden

Christmas at Covent Garden was filmed on 18th December 2011 at London's Covent Garden Market. The Market had been decked with giant baubles and mirror balls that threw snow like points of light around the historic buildings arches and upon the crowds who where taking in the festive atmosphere. Outside the main market area stood a giant topiary reindeer and Christmas tree with a large red bow tied around its wooden base, these festive icons where accompanied by the hustle of visitors taking in the performances of the multitude of street performers the area is famous for. A unique aroma of deep yellow Paella and sweet Chestnuts roasting on an open fire filled our senses in the second hall whist an opera singer serenaded a gathering crowd. The famous Apple market selling (despite its name) sold an eclectic selection of craft items from photographs of typical English scenes to the usual London bus tourist souvenirs. Using the map on my phone we took a brief diversion around the near...
