RAF Town Show Leicester

The RAF Town Show a recruitment event for the Royal Air Force landed in Leicesters Humberstone Gate with information available to visitors regarding all sorts of facets of RAF life. With serving personnel visitors got first hand advice on perusing a career in the Royal Air Force, The showstopper of the event was a 1:1 scale facsimile of a Eurofighter Typhoon Aircraft which stood at one end of the event and gave people the chance to climb aboard and sit in a recreated cockpit, something that was very popular with visitors of all ages. The film begins at the Leicester Clock Tower and we quickly make our way to the event on Humberstone gate with the Lewis`s tower another Leicester landmark marking the start of the display area. Passing along the line of inflatable gazebos we see the various parts of the RAF represented from Transport and logistics to catering and reserves, the RAF Motorcycling team are even represented. We soon come to the Showstopper facsimile of the Typhoon Figh...

Leicester Continental Market

I visited the annual continental market in Leicester. The event features foods crafts and more with traders traveling to the city from many continental countries, this is an event in which you will find German sausages alongside Mediterranean olives and coconut macaroons !. My film aims to offer a glimpse of the events many stalls and the atmosphere but is sadly unable to bring you the smells and tastes, for that you must attend the event itself which i thoroughly recommend.

Demolition of Leicester Council Offices

On 22nd February 2015 Leicester City Council`s old Offices known as New Walk Centre where destroyed in a controlled explosion. Hundreds gathered in the surrounding streets to see the towers fall into their own footprint with anticipation rising as the countdown began a series of loud bangs where heard before the towers fell in seconds leaving a large dust cloud and otherworldly scenes on the surrounding streets which where now coated with a fine layer of dust from the fallen building. My video filmed on Pocklingtons walk features the countdown demolition and dust covered streets afterwards. Images Follow

Wistow Diamond Jubilee Event Poster

Designed to promote a charity event centred around the Queens Diamond Jubilee celebrations at Wistow Rural Centre in Leicestershire this poster uses the instantly recognisable Union Jack flag as its background. The Flag`s famous lines are echoed by the use of a simple sans serif typeface and patriotic colour scheme of Red, White, Blue & Yellow (standing in for gold in this instance). The type is centre aligned with a crown at the top in a deliberate nod toward the modern resurgence of the Keep Calm And Carry On posters. The Campaign saw this poster reproduced in a number of sizes from A5 through to A3 & displayed in a number of locations around the local area of Wistow, A simple easy to read style was needed that could be easily reproduced across the various sizes without loosing the message.
