Great Central Railway - Easter Vintage Festival 2019

I visited the Great Central Railway`s Quorn & Woodhouse station to step back in time and experience a traditional country steam fayre at the Easter Vintage Festival. The event features traction engines, traditional fairground rides like the steam powered Gallopers, Ferris wheel, fairground organs, classic and hot rod cars. My film aims to give a taste of the events atmosphere and features a look around the event ending with a performance by "Greengrass" on his banjo.

GCR Heritage Bus Running Day

I visited the Great Central Railways Quorn and Woodhouse station where numerous vintage buses from across the decades and county had met for a Bus rally and heritage running day. Once a regular sight on the roads of #Leicester and also in the wider country many viewers will remember catching a "Midland Red" or a "Fox Cub" into Leicester City center and the destination board at the start of my film features many familiar stops. Also featured in this film are buses and coaches used by many for trips to the seaside in skegness or maybe to Wembley Stadium for a Leicester City Cup Final this event and the vehicles featured are sure to bring back fond memories for many. Look out for a bonus appearance by the GCR Rail car which could be described as a sort of "Bus on rails". Fun fact I found my old School Bus at the event !.

GCR Beer Festival & Pistons & Pumps Festival - Great Central Railway

A couple of posters and flyers designed for The Great Central Railways Beer Festival and Pistons And Pumps festival which runs concurrently. The posters advance ideas from previous poster designs and introduce some new ones too. You will notice the chimney of the train is a beer glass and with the logo of the event on the smoke box door the whole design evokes the pumps familiar to any regular pub goer look out also for several pistons hidden in the design. GCR - Vintage Vehicle Summer Festival Branding

Various adaptations of an event branding created by myself for print and screen usage. Designed for the Great Central Railway Vintage Vehicle Summer Festival the event takes The Steam Miniatures and Commercial events (see previous posts GCR Commercial event  and Steam Miniatures  ) and combines them into one big festival to which all vintage vehicles are invited and welcome to attend. The design itself borrows from the well known vintage rail posters on display at the heritage railways stations and features a Commercial Truck, Traction Engine and Vintage Bus taken from the posters for events that this event replaces. The poster also features a Steam Engine "Bridging The Gap" which is a nod to the railways plans to re-unite the two halves of the "Old Great Central Railway", The planes reference the Hurricane, Spitfire and Dakota flypast that will also be part of the festival.       The branding is continued into a banner image for use on the home page sl...
