DMU Gospel Choir - At Sainsbury's Fosse Park, BBC Music Day

As part of BBC Music Day, (a UK wide annual celebration of the power of music to change lives), Leicester based DMU Gospel Choir brought their spectacular gospel sound to the Sainsbury`s store at Fosse Park to entertain shoppers. The performance was recorded for BBC local radio (BBC Radio Leicester) for broadcast later in the day by Jimmy Carpenter. The theme for the music day 2019 is music and wellbeing; the power of music to inspire, bring us together and make a positive impact, something that the DMU Gospel Choir certainly brought to shoppers with big smiles throughout the store. With thanks to DMU Gospel Choir, Sainsbury`s Fosse Park and BBC Radio Leicester for making the event a big success.

AeroSPARX display over Leicester

On the evening of Friday 13th, a day long associated with strange occurrences, bright lights appeared above the city of #Leicester performing an aerial dance across the sky. People below wondered what was happening as pyrotechnic flares shot from the Unidentified Flying Objects, calls where made to law enforcement by those trying to work out what the strange lights above them might be. The sky ballet continued as phones and cameras where pointed skyward, all too soon they disappeared. People where clueless as tweets and messages filled social media speculation was rife, first contact with aliens or maybe falling space debris re-entering the atmosphere where all suggested causes. In the end the explanation was far more down to earth, it was a aerobatic stunt display team named AeroSPARX helping BBC Radio Leicester launch their new drivetime show. On board high above the city where presenters Jimmy and Summaya experiencing a very different perspective of Leicester.

Street Art In Leicester - SHORT STREET LE1

A look at street art created by artists along Leicester`s Short Street. Leicester is fast becoming the place to be for street artists, a previously unremarkable shortcut from the city center to St margarets Bus Station short street has been transformed with bight artwork on both sides of the street. The street now features works by many artists and even contains a portrait of internationally popular comedy character Mr Bean !. My film takes a look at some of the artworks and aims to give an idea of the scale but a visit to this hidden Leicester gem is thoroughly recommended.

The Victory Show Airshow Featuring RAF Falcons

Part of The annual Victory Show in Cosby Leicestershire is a full program of airplane displays from the 1940`s era and often other very special displays such as round parachute drops and in 2019 a display from the RAF Falcons parachute display team. Also featured are the P-47D THUNDERBOLT, GAZELLE SQUADRON & PBY-5A CATALINA

The Victory show 2019

The Annual Victory Show 1940`s re-enactment event returned to Foxlands farm in september 2019 larger and better than ever before. Living history displays where complimented by parachute drops and a variety of aircraft taking to the skies, The ever popular large showpiece land battle also took place with a simulated battle in the woods also added to the re-enactments at the show. The event is now one of the countries biggest of its type and attracts re-enactment groups from around the country. My film starts off with a look at everyday wartime life before the RAF are scrambled and the action intensifies. once the battle is won we return to the woods where the accordionist plays an uplifting tune.
