Christmas In Leicester - Switch On 2017

It`s #ChristmasInLeicester and here`s a look at events as the city`s Christmas lights are switched on. We start at the Highcross #Frostival outside the Urban Antidote art gallery where we meet the Ice Prince and Princess and follow them as they roam St Peters Square freezing all they come across. We then discover the White Queen`s magical giant Snow Lion on the prowl but don`t worry he`s friendly and even does selfies !. The action then moves to the Clock Tower where Leicestershire Fire and Rescue service bring Rudolph and a well known bearded and red suited gentleman in his sleigh to spread some festive cheer. Next up its over to New Market Square for a brief look at the #Leicester Christmas market before returning to Highcross for a cultured end to the evening with Sophie Adams Ballet Company performing the "Best Bits" of the Ballet Swan Lake. My film aims to capture a sense of the festive feeling as this annual event sets the Leicester Christmas season wel...

Menphys Children for Children Carol Concert Poster Design - 2013

A Poster designed for the charity Menphys advertising their annual Children for Children Carol Concert at the Leicester`s De Montfort hall. The Poster was designed following the brief of a traditional Christmas Carol Concert poster  with modern elements, the colour scheme mixes the charity's well known red with blues and whites allowing for a snowy Christmas feel the layout follows the brand guidelines created for the charity by myself for use across all public facing output. As the charity works with children an element of playfulness is achieved with the inclusion of Santa hats and Rudolph antlers on a couple of the letters.

Springtime Snow At The Snowdon Mountain Railway

My Video features the unique scenes on The Snowdon Mountain Railway yesterday after heavy springtime snowfall had caused the initial closure of the line. The Railway`s staff have worked hard to cut through the huge snowdrifts and get the line operational again leaving deep snow lined corridors for the trains to pass through and creating spectacular scenes rare to Springtime in the UK.

Wales Scenery - Spring 2013

My Short film features some of the spectacular scenery on offer on a visit to Wales. Waking up at 4am we travelled to Wales where we where met by the spectacular snow topped mountains of the Snowdonia national park and high snowdrifts on either side of the road. Lit by the early morning sun and set against a deep blue sky you would be forgiven for thinking we where in the Alps.

Menphys Christmas Campaign Posters 2012

The Menphys Christmas Campaign for 2012 was based around the idea of presents and Christmas wrapping.  Menphys Grand Christmas Prize Draw 2012 Poster The Menphys Grand Christmas Prize draw poster uses a bold and festive colour scheme of Orange, Red and Green with the words Prize Draw seemingly blasting form the page toward the viewer prizes are listed along the main large ribbon and a tall vintage Art Deco style typeface is used to allow for lots of information to be presented in a narrow space.    Menphys Children for Children Carol Concert Poster 2012 Continuing the presents and wrapping theme with ribbon and stripes the Carol Concert poster uses a more subtle colour scheme making the word Christmas More prominent and the type is angled to give the poster a dynamic style. The poster also includes a QR code allowing interested persons to once again purchase tickets by scanning it with their smartphone.

Christmas at Covent Garden

Christmas at Covent Garden was filmed on 18th December 2011 at London's Covent Garden Market. The Market had been decked with giant baubles and mirror balls that threw snow like points of light around the historic buildings arches and upon the crowds who where taking in the festive atmosphere. Outside the main market area stood a giant topiary reindeer and Christmas tree with a large red bow tied around its wooden base, these festive icons where accompanied by the hustle of visitors taking in the performances of the multitude of street performers the area is famous for. A unique aroma of deep yellow Paella and sweet Chestnuts roasting on an open fire filled our senses in the second hall whist an opera singer serenaded a gathering crowd. The famous Apple market selling (despite its name) sold an eclectic selection of craft items from photographs of typical English scenes to the usual London bus tourist souvenirs. Using the map on my phone we took a brief diversion around the near...
