Archers Festive Tractor Run 2025

The Annual Charity festive Tractor Run by the  @ArchersView  made its way around South Leicester on Sunday 21st December 2015 . The weather outside was spiteful but the tractors looked delightful with lights aglow, with horns sounding loudly we could hear them approaching from a long way outside the village of Countesthorpe in Leicestershire . As the parade begins we see the first tractors approach the roundabout and hear exited cheers from the considerable crowd who have braved the wet weather and cold temperatures. As various styles and sizes of farm vehicle pass we also see The Grinch riding a motorbike and holding a Christmas tree !. Switching to a lower vantage point further along Main Street we hear renditions if popular music from Barbie Girl to Baby Shark !. Among the tractors we see other vehicles taking part such as a bright orange Crouch Recovery truck and waste collection trucks or " bin lorries ". A vintage vehicle follows with antlers and S...

Leicestershire Cyclocross League Round 5

The 5th round of the Leicestershire Cyclocross League season took place at a very muddy Cattows Farm two days into 2022. The event featured a course with several obstacles including a spiral and a dismount among others. My film starts as the bikes are prepared for the race in a muddy pit area. It's over to the start line next where after a blast from a whistle we see the competitors tackle the course. Later we hear the last lap bell ring before the chequered flag is waved to signal the end of the race and the racers learn their timings.

Pumpkin Picking At Cattows Farm - Leicestershire

I went Pumpkin Picking at Cattows Farm in Leicestershire to find the perfect Pumpkin for Halloween. The green field was dotted with bursts of bright orange color and crisscrossed with people of all ages searching for and selecting the perfect prize Pumpkin for their spooktacular creations. With wheelbarrows laden with Pumpkin of every colour, size and conceivable shape we made our way back to the farm shop to pay and maybe indulge in some treats from the suitably decorated tea room. Red Kite Feeding Time Gigrin Farm Wales

At Gigrin Farm, Red Kite Feeding & Rehabilitation Centre in Wales Feeding takes place at 2pm (last weekend in October onwards) 3pm ( from the last weekend in March). The Crows are usually first on the scene followed by Buzzards and Red Kites competing for the best cuts of meat. The birds demonstrate spectacular feats of aerial manoeuvrability as they swoop low to capture the food in their claws, The birds then proceed to eat their newly acquired meal in-flight before diving down again for another helping. My short film features the view from hide 5 as the food is brought to the birds in the back of a tractor and illustrates the amazing spectacle of these very special birds in flight. Keep a look out for the rare white bird during the video. See Below for stills from the day A Red Kite In-Flight A Panoramic Photo showing the hides on the left and the feeding area on the right.

Turbine 2.0

Turbine 2.0 is a follow up to my previous film Turbine and once again features the wind turbines at Low Spinney Wind farm. The Turbines are now fully operational and can be seen turning at their stately place silhouetted against the deep orange setting sun. Setting off around 5:30pm with the light slowly fading we where in a race against the clock to capture the wind turbines silhouetted against the setting sun. I rushed to set up my tripod and started to film, the blades of the turbines ceaselessly turning in the field alongside me. The sun, now a large orange disk hanging in the sky, started to illuminate the underside of the low level clouds and plane trails that criss crossed the sky above. The Turbines where bathed in an orange glow as they spun rooted to their base, facing the sunset and majestic in their stature. A few moments later and the large disk of the sun dipped below the horizon and I stopped filming, unlike the turbines who were all the time turning never slo...
