HELIOS - By Luke Jerram

I got “sent to Coventry”, home of Coventry Market all kinds of everything something for everyone etc.
but as much as I’m sure the lady who sells rugs is very nice I’m not here for that lol.

I visited the  @nationaltrustcharity  Charterhouse in Coventry to see artist  @lukejerram7742 's Helios installation on display in the properties beautiful landscaped gardens.
We begin our look at the work with a wide shot showing bees collecting pollen and visitors young and old enjoying the gardens, further along the garden path and two visitors are challenging themselves to complete a maze made from bricks in the lawns. Getting closer now we see the Charterhouse itself with it`s mishmash of styles people are picnicking and enjoying the good weather with Helios looming behind. Now up close to the art work we find a glass model of the earth made in scale to the sun, giving a true perspective of the size of the sun itself. Looming high above the fiery giant really is the star of the show. We take a step back to find a family picnic taking place under an apple tree before the relaxing sound of the fountain is heard again Helios ever present in the back of the frame. Next we see a Harp player and singer pf traditional Indian music entertain the crowds with music on the theme of Sun, Moon and the stars

Early Morning at Bradgate Park

This short film was shot by me during the early morning sunrise at Bradgate Park in Leicestershire. The film features Bradgate park which was the birthplace and early home of Lady Jane Grey - 9 days Queen of England. The park is well known for its herds of red and fallow deer who roam freely amongst the spectacular scenery of this unspoilt part of Leicestershire.

BMX National Series at Huncote Hornets, Leicestershire

The 29th and 30th September 2018 saw the #BMX National Series come to #Leicester Huncote Hornets BMX track, The event (rescheduled due to weather issues in early spring) saw riders of all ages arrive in the Leicestershire town from across the country to do battle on the Hornets BMX track behind the Pavilion leisure center. My film aims to give a sense of the race atmosphere on day two of the event where a dramatically cloudy sky and lighting gave a cinematic feel to races on the track. Hold on tight this is a fast one !.

The Paris - Roubaix Bike Race - April 2013

My film features the professional (and dusty !) Paris - Roubaix Bike Race which took place in April 2013 and was filmed at various locations along the route in France. The Race takes place (as its name suggests) on a route between Paris and Roubaix in northern France and is famous for its rough terrain and cobblestones which often cause riders to fall and gives the race its nickname of 'The Hell of the North & 'A Sunday in Hell'. The event was first run in 1896 and as one of cycling's oldest races draws large crowds from many country's. The race was created by two Roubaix textile manufacturers, Théodore Vienne and Maurice Perez.
