  I take a look at Space by Luxmuralis at Leicester Cathedral. Having previously witnessed Luxmuralis work at Lichfield Cathedral I was exited to see what the artists would create at Leicester Cathedral with its similar architecture but ultimately quite different layout and size. I attended the 8pm showing after attending the Leicester Christmas Lights Switch on (see previous film) on an icy cold 20th November. The Windows of the cathedral were illuminated in various colours as I approached, with the show on a loop the grand soundtrack by David Harper could be heard as I entered the building. Following a route around the interior of this familiar place transformed by Peter Walker and his team with light and projections, I turned right to see King Richard III`s final resting place like never before, illuminated in blue and pink light an ethereal atmosphere was created and with a projection portraying the passage of time projected onto the cathedral wall in front of the Kings tomb, a...

As the festive season approaches faster than the Polar Express at full speed the annual switching on of the Leicester Christmas Lights takes place at various locations around the city. We begin the evening on High Street where we meet the Nutcracker Marching band, we`ll meet them again several times over the evening but for now we follow them to the clock tower which is already illuminated by lasers and patterns projected from the Haymarket balcony where BBC Radio Leicesters Ady Dayman and cast from De Montfort Halls Pantomime are getting the crowds ready for the big moment. Past the Christmas food market and we find an eccentric fellow with his Pramdemonium a strange contraption with trumpets and bubbles playing organ music to entertain the crowds. On to Town Hall Square now where illuminations and moving lights give the area a magical quality, we see two stilt walking angels towering over us, illuminated and performing graceful movements as they move through the crowd. The Newbold Knitsys !, Have once again been decorating the village Post Box in Newbold Verdon.  The topper theme is Remembrance and pays tribute to the many brave soldiers who fought for our freedoms in wars both historic and current, revealed in time for Remembrance Sunday the topper features a black silhouette of a soldier wearing a helmet surrounded at it`s base with knitted poppies in red, black and purple, Poppies also surround the edge of the postbox attached to a grass green base.

As Remembrance Day approaches and we remember all who have served in conflicts both historic and current, the Yarnbomb team in Cosby have pulled out all the stops to create a spectacular display in tribute to those brave people who fought for our freedoms. Featuring many Poppies and a banner reading "Lest We Forget" a postbox topper with a pair of well marched boots, perhaps the most spectacular part of the display is the knitted Spitfire plane flying past whilst releasing a trail of Poppies behind it.  We end with a skirt of poppies around the Cosby village sign beside the victory park and village hall.
