Leicester Christmas Lights & Winter Food Festival 2014

Highlights of the events around Leicester City Center before and including the switching on of the City's Christmas Lights.
The Center of Leicester was packed with people of all ages as presenters from BBC Radio Leicester compared a live stage show of performances from a host of local performers meanwhile in the Marketplace the annual winter food festival was taking place with food from all round the world and Skiband who preformed Ska versions of well known Christmas songs.
The action then switched back to the stage where BBC Leicester`s Jim Davis and Jo Hayward lead LCFC mascot Filbert the Fox, Santa Clause and others in a countdown the switch on of the lights, the lights illumination was accompanied by a flurry of paper snow and Christmas music to really get the festive season off to a spectacular start in the city.

Early Morning at Bradgate Park

This short film was shot by me during the early morning sunrise at Bradgate Park in Leicestershire. The film features Bradgate park which was the birthplace and early home of Lady Jane Grey - 9 days Queen of England. The park is well known for its herds of red and fallow deer who roam freely amongst the spectacular scenery of this unspoilt part of Leicestershire.

BMX National Series at Huncote Hornets, Leicestershire

The 29th and 30th September 2018 saw the #BMX National Series come to #Leicester Huncote Hornets BMX track, The event (rescheduled due to weather issues in early spring) saw riders of all ages arrive in the Leicestershire town from across the country to do battle on the Hornets BMX track behind the Pavilion leisure center. My film aims to give a sense of the race atmosphere on day two of the event where a dramatically cloudy sky and lighting gave a cinematic feel to races on the track. Hold on tight this is a fast one !.

The Paris - Roubaix Bike Race - April 2013

My film features the professional (and dusty !) Paris - Roubaix Bike Race which took place in April 2013 and was filmed at various locations along the route in France. The Race takes place (as its name suggests) on a route between Paris and Roubaix in northern France and is famous for its rough terrain and cobblestones which often cause riders to fall and gives the race its nickname of 'The Hell of the North & 'A Sunday in Hell'. The event was first run in 1896 and as one of cycling's oldest races draws large crowds from many country's. The race was created by two Roubaix textile manufacturers, Théodore Vienne and Maurice Perez.
