Statbus at night

Just take a ride upon the busses !, could it be a long lost episode of a 70`s sitcom about bus drivers ?, No its Statbus, at night. Thanks to the Transport Museum Wythall the Statfold Country Park and Railway played host to a wide selection of restored, vintage and modern buses and coaches from across the country. We start the fun with a line up of various buses as one departs proudly declaring "It`s Best By Omnibus" along it's side, the green and cream vintage bus is soon joined by a brown bus before both head off on a shuttle service to local towns. Next up is a brightly painted bus from the Isle Of Man its unique shape and design a regular sight for islanders once upon a time. The Manx bus in red and yellow sits beside a midland red single decker making for a complementary pairing. Over at the railway and bridging the gap between bus and railway is the `Goose' a strange hybrid of locomotive and bus on rails. As the Goose waits at the station a small steam engine from the Statfold collection passes by before heading into the darkness. As night falls we see passengers getting onto a Double Decker Midland Red before the driver closes the door and head off into the night having had a great time on the busses.

Early Morning at Bradgate Park

This short film was shot by me during the early morning sunrise at Bradgate Park in Leicestershire. The film features Bradgate park which was the birthplace and early home of Lady Jane Grey - 9 days Queen of England. The park is well known for its herds of red and fallow deer who roam freely amongst the spectacular scenery of this unspoilt part of Leicestershire.

BMX National Series at Huncote Hornets, Leicestershire

The 29th and 30th September 2018 saw the #BMX National Series come to #Leicester Huncote Hornets BMX track, The event (rescheduled due to weather issues in early spring) saw riders of all ages arrive in the Leicestershire town from across the country to do battle on the Hornets BMX track behind the Pavilion leisure center. My film aims to give a sense of the race atmosphere on day two of the event where a dramatically cloudy sky and lighting gave a cinematic feel to races on the track. Hold on tight this is a fast one !.

The Paris - Roubaix Bike Race - April 2013

My film features the professional (and dusty !) Paris - Roubaix Bike Race which took place in April 2013 and was filmed at various locations along the route in France. The Race takes place (as its name suggests) on a route between Paris and Roubaix in northern France and is famous for its rough terrain and cobblestones which often cause riders to fall and gives the race its nickname of 'The Hell of the North & 'A Sunday in Hell'. The event was first run in 1896 and as one of cycling's oldest races draws large crowds from many country's. The race was created by two Roubaix textile manufacturers, Théodore Vienne and Maurice Perez.
