Desford Scarecrow Festival 2017 - Desford Leicestershire

The Leicestershire village of Desford was invaded by over 100 scarecrows created by residents and groups on the theme of Entertainment. The theme meant that there was a diverse range of creations including Doctor Who`s Cybermen, Minions, Spiderman, characters from The Wizard of Oz (including their very own Yellow Brick Road !). Meanwhile Thunderbirds where Go on one street whilst round the corner scarecrow Guy Martin was working hard on an engine and sipping on a cup of his favorite Yorkshire tea (other brands are available). My film (which took two days to film !) shows just a small selection of the scarecrows on display can you spot the strictly hosts in scarecrow form ?, a scene from hit film La La Land and who knew Elvis was alive and performing in fabulous Las Desford !. The festival is believed to have been given the title of the biggest of its kind in the UK (not bad for its first year !). Project_Vee - Leicester City Festival

Project_Vee is a outdoor spectacle bringing together techniques inspired by legendary Soviet era circus with technology creating a modern approach to performance juggling "The Vee" reaches a height of 2.5 meters and plays in the round which means everyone in the audience gets a great view of the show. 2 years in the making, 1 prototype and a lot of tinkering "The Vee" has proven a challenging act to perfect but as my short film shows the result is a fascinating, energetic and exiting two man show Project_Vee is a collaboration between PanGothic and Circus Geeks and produced by the production shed. My film features highlights of the Project_Vee performance (and a random low flying Plane !) as it visits Leicester for the City Festival. for further information on Project Vee please visit their website at https://projectvee.com

The Urban Astronaut - Leicester City Festival

The Urban Astronaut landed in Leicester City Center as part of the city festival 2017. The dramatic performance explores the environmental issue of air pollution, one of the most serious problems affecting the environment today. The astronaut performs spins and jumps suspended up to 20ft in the air giving the appearance of weightlessness. A traveler from a future version of earth, which has been destroyed and made inhospitable through air pollution he has returned to the past to find an answer to a future crisis. My film joins the astronaut as he travels through the City center passing the clock tower (a well known Leicester landmark) before arriving on Humberstone gate where he may find an answer to his crisis. Rickshaws & Riders - City Ride Leicester & An Indian Summer

After the Castle Classic pro-cycling race ( see previous post here ) sped through the city the public where invited to take to the traffic free streets for the HSBC UK CITY RIDE LEICESTER. The event featured hundreds of people "reclaiming the streets" on bikes of all shapes and sizes and for the first time the cyclists where accompanied by decorated Rickshaws and Dhol drummers as part of An Indian Summer Festival this made for a vibrant and colorful parade as they moved through the city. My film Rickshaws and Riders aims to capture the colors and sounds of the event and give a idea of the exiting atmosphere as the streets of Leicester come alive with the sounds of South Asian Culture in the UK.
