King Charles III Postbox Topper SKB, Syston


The Syston Knitting Banksy (SKB) returns with another spectacular creation. The elusive Syston Knitting Banksy or SKB regularly creates knitted artworks related to current events and to mark special occasions. With King Charles III upcoming coronation the artist has depicted the new king on his throne with Crown, Orb and Sceptre atop a postbox in the village of Syston in Leicestershire. Full of accurate details the piece features recreations of the St Edward's Crown used in the Coronation service itself, the Golden cloak which represents the Robe Royal and featuring the national emblems of the UK. The chair is a wooly duplicate of the coronation chair commissioned by Edward 1st in 1296, it also features a gray area representing the "Stone Of Scone" used for centuries in the coronation of scottish monarchs.
