  Based on a 1930.s great western railway the David Clarke railway recreates the golden age of steam in miniature with radio controlled engines and a accurate realistic signalling system . Located origionaly in a factory drawing office in Mountsorrel and created in the 1970`s by the late David Clarke the railway is now situated at the Shuttlewood Clarke Foundation at Ulverscroft Grange and is free to visit (ring ahead to check opening times). The railway is run by a dedicated group of volunteers and was recently (2025) saved from closure by the Shuttlewood Clarke Foundation and welcomes donations to maintain David Clarkes Legacy for future generations.  

  Down by the riverside, there’s all sorts going on at Leicester’s riverside festival , in the heart of the city, a weekend bursting with music, food, arts, family fun, and vibrant waterside activity. Starting at Bede Park , where a Ferris wheel turns, giving riders a fun overview of the festival site, and along the mile-long straight. A right turn along the western boulevard past some balloons sees a busy street lined with traders and filled with visitors enjoying the atmosphere. We pass dancers heading to one of multiple performance stages and stalls offering GIANT SAUSAGES . Action on the water next as the ever-popular Dragon Boats line up to race under the bridges to the beat of a drum. In Castle Gardens , we meet performers from the House of Circus running a circus skills workshop for people of all ages. Nearby, a beautiful dress covered in flowers celebrates a bloom theme.   Created by acclaimed artist Shiraaz Ali with Inspirate Shine Your Light is a large scale mural that has transformed Leicester`s Belgrave Road , celebrating Diwali Festival celebrations that are held along the famous Golden Mile each year, the mural features artwork depicting traditional symbolism and uses contemporary street art techniques, reflecting heritage and the areas modern identity. The mural captures the heritage of the Light-Switch On which first took place in 1983 over 40 years ago and features a mother and daughter representing the passing of the festival from one generation to another, Two tigers also feature to symbolise the community's strength, power and protection, the lotus flower symbolises resilience, growth and inner peace and the large 'Shine Your Light' is a reminder to people to share their unique gifts with the world.

  A look at the street art and graffiti under the arches of Stanford Viaduct just outside Loughborough , the urban elements contrasting with the surrounding countryside and grand arches. After exploring the various colourful designs, we see perhaps the biggest contrast as past collides with present, and the Flying Scotsman steam locomotive makes its stately way across the viaduct, completing a tranquil scene of the river and a paddle-boarder, mixing time periods like a lord of time . 

  The ‘Johnnie’ Johnson mural in Loughborough is a massive artwork celebrating one of the town’s most renowned sons, the legendary Air Vice Marshal James Edgar ‘Johnnie’ Johnson . Located at the junction of New King Street and Great Central Road, this dramatic piece honours the RAF Spitfire pilot Johnnie who shot down more enemy aircraft than any other Allied fighter pilot during World War II .

  A street art collaboration between Leicester's Graffwerk and Global Street Art to promote the Netflix documentary Untold UK Jamie Vardy . On a wall alongside the Haymarket Bus Station in Leicester , a large artwork has been unveiled featuring former Leicester City Football Club legend Jamie Vardy in the form of an action figure with various shenanigans and accessories, including an energy drink, a broken corner flag, and a football. The Vardy figure is seen cupping his hands behind his ears, a pose he is known for doing on the pitch to fans in the stands. The work itself is a promotion for the Netflix documentary Untold UK, telling the story of Jamie’s career highlights, and As Seen On Netflix is written large on the packaging.   The Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride through Newbold Verdon as part of the DGR event which sees vintage bikes and riders "Ride Dapper" in their best suits etc worldwide to raise funds for research into Prostate Cancer and raise awareness of men`s mental health issues . The ride was founded in Sydney Australia by Mark Hawwa in 2012 and is celebrating 15 years of Riding Dapper in 2026 and as of this film has raised $60M USD, with 500k plus riders taking part in 121 countries worldwide.   Tornado 60163 And Flying Scotsman 60103 locomotives pass through Loughborough station on their way to the ​⁠. With the iconic Brush transformers factory frontage visible behind them the two locomotives travel through double headed and join the regular rail traffic through the station to the surprise and delight of Friday evening commuters. We later catch up with them on the Stanford Viaduct pulled by a Red DB Class 66 " Martins House ".

  Join Ziggy the Astronaut as he goes on a Planet Parade around the city of Leicester . The Planet Parade turns Leicester into a walkable solar system with planets at various locations created by around 250 schoolchildren and artists. Each planet is represented by bold artworks installed at various Leicester locations from the Highcross and Haymarket shopping centres to the Cathedral , Jewry Wall Museum , and Leicester Museum on New Walk . We first join Ziggy as he enters the Highcross, where he finds Mercury represented, and so begins his mission across space and Leicester to find all the planets. His mission was filmed over several months between 30th March and 31st May and took in many of Leicester’s known locations and landmarks. After floating around the city, Ziggy finds his zig-zaggy way to the centre of the Solar System , finding the Sun at the base of the iconic rocket tower at the National Space Centre .
