Queen`s Baton Relay Market Bosworth

The Queens Baton Relay arrives in Market Bosworth on it`s tour of the country ahead of the Commonwealth games in Birmingham. Having previously followed the relay in Leicester City Center I followed it to the village of Market Bosworth where we see the relay pass a Primary School with pupils waving flags they have made. Following the Baton Bearers along Station Road and into the square in the center of the village, we are met by hundreds of spectators cheering and clapping the baton as it passes through and onto the country park on the edge of the village. Keep a look out for a cameo from Perry the Bull mascot of the games !.

Santa Visits Newbold Verdon

On Friday 17th December a jolly fellow full of festive cheer enlisted the help of his friends at Rotary Club of Market Bosworth and visited the Leicestershire village of Newbold Verdon, The jolly fellow on his sleigh was none other than Father christmas or "Santa Claus". The magical man in the bright red suit was carried along in his snow white sleigh by a vintage tractor and two of his long serving reindeer, waving to village residents young and old with beaming smiles as bright as a thousand twinkling christmas lights. In this short film we see santa arrive in the village before following a route through the streets and on to main street before he sets off into the night to prepare for the big day.

With help from some firefighters he traveled each street, he brought festive cheer, a true christmas treat.  In 2020 santa and his sleigh made a socially distanced visit to the Village of Newbold Verdon, We join him on the main road as he enters the village with help from (Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Service Market Bosworth), who then guided him on a tour of the village. Children, Families and others watched from a safe distance on the pavement or from upstairs windows waving and bringing festive cheer as he passed by.
