Under The Arches - Featuring Flying Scotsman

A look at the street art and graffiti under the arches of Stanford Viaduct just outside Loughborough , the urban elements contrasting with the surrounding countryside and grand arches. After exploring the various colourful designs, we see perhaps the biggest contrast as past collides with present, and the Flying Scotsman steam locomotive makes its stately way across the viaduct, completing a tranquil scene of the river and a paddle-boarder, mixing time periods like a lord of time .

Open Streets - Graffwerk Street Art Jam

The #Leicester Open Streets series of events comes to Jarvis Street and teams up with Visit Leicester, Ride Leicester, Active Leicester, Leicester City Council and Street Art Collective Graffwerk for a Street Art Jam. Moving into the Street Art Jam itself under the bridge and a custom 80`s themed tandem bike by Cyclone Works is blasting out tunes to create a fun atmosphere. Artists in the back of shot are up and down ladders creating art on the walls as people watch on and join in the fun. With activities for all ages at the jam we see staff from Graffwerk running an spray can up cycling, painting workshop popular especially with the younger visitors. Along the opposite side of the street more artists are creating work an...

Street Art In Leicester - Richard III Junction Boxes

Opposite the King Richard III Visitor Center in Leicester three previously uninteresting and  unassuming junction boxes have been transformed by local street artist Wing Lo. The boxes against a wall facing the visitor centre now provide even more of a link between the centre, King Richards Statue and the Leicester Cathedral where he was re-interred. The Artwork on the boxes feature a welsh dragon the logo and colours of one of the works backers (BID Leicester) and the largest box features King Richards royal standard and the logo of the visitor centre it faces. My short look at the work starts at the famous statue in the Cathedral gardens before rounding the corner to reveal the boxes. Junction Boxes By Artist Wing Lo

Street Art In Leicester - Savoy Street Mural

An Art Deco cinema of the past provided inspiration for artists MONO and Richard Peacock when creating a mural on Leicester`s newest street, Savoy Street. The Savoy Theater, later known as the ABC, stood for 70 years on Belgrave Gate and was a popular location for many generations of Leicester residents. The venue was demolished by its owners on 2007 after laying empty for several years. Artists from Leicester based Graffwerk used playbills from the Savoy and two other long gone venues along Belgrave Gate, The Floral Hall and Palace Theater to create the mural which spans three buildings along the newly created Savoy Street designed for use by Busses, Taxis and Pedestrians and linking Belgrave Gate with Mansfield Street.

Bring The Paint

With 48 large scale murals across the city Bring The Paint returned bigger and better than ever to Leicester in 2022. In a celebration of graffiti culture, artists from around the world descended on Leicester to bring their unique styles to various locations throughout the East Midlands city. My film features a sample of the festival showing the artists at work and whilst I've not been able to include all 48 works I hope it gives a flavor of the pieces being created by the talented artists. Look out for new takes on well known characters and original works by world class artists and even a 3D piece in the Highcross Shopping Center.
