Leicester Ice Rink Opening 2024

I was invited by Visit Leicester to the opening of Leicesters ever popular real Ice Rink. The Ice Rink, in a first for the UK ,features over 20,000 lights in the ice itself and an all new lighting rig suspended above the to create a magical festive environment for skaters. My film shows the rink ready for the skaters before the City Mayor Sir Peter Soulsby officially cuts the ribbon and declares the Ice Rink open for the festive season in the city. The ice soon fills up with skaters of all ages enjoying the atmosphere of #ChristmasInLeicester . To book your tickets visit: www.visitleicester.info The rink is open daily from 10am to 10pm from December 5th 2024 to January 5th 2025.

Khun Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha Memorial Garden Opening Day

A look around the Khun Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha Memorial Garden on opening day. On the one year anniversary of the tragic helicopter crash that claimed the lives of Leicester City Chairman Khun Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha his Pilot co-pilot, and several members of his staff, the football club opened a memorial garden for fans and anyone wishing to reflect and remember. We begin by entering the garden alongside the first few fans and lay tributes beneath framed portraits of Khun Vichai and those who lost their lives before following the path around the garden taking in some of the various topiary and other features of the garden. My film ends at the well marking the spot where the helicopter came down.

Opening Ceremony Fireworks - London

My view of the spectacular fireworks that signalled the start of the London 2012 Olympic Games. Filmed from just outside the Olympic park the stadium is dwarfed by Anish Kapoor`s Orbit tower. During the final moments of slumdog millionaire director Danny Boyle`s 'Isles of Wonder' Opening ceremony the tower signalled the start of the games with a ring of fireworks from its roof this was closely followed by a spectacular display from the atop of the stadium itself which answered with a show of colour, movement and a barrage of loud bangs and noise as it illuminated the East London sky.
