Junk Yard Cruisers Meet - Stoney Cove

During a recent visit to Stoney Cove in Leicestershire I happened upon a meet up of the Junkyard Cruisers, a group of custom car owners who meet regularly to show their cars. The cars came in various shapes, colors and sizes each one meticulously painted and crafted to show its owners personality, Highlights included a very low car with paneling made to look like wood and the Rapid Rodent a sleak streamlined red car with shiny chrome accents.

Leicester - #BackTheBlues

On 29th April 2016 as Leicester City Football Club where poised to win the English Premier League the City Of Leicester showed its support by illuminating many city landmarks with blue light. Named #BackingTheBlues day the event was a joint campaign launched by BBC Radio Leicester and the Leicester Mercury and supported by businesses across the city. My short film features a few highlights of the evening including a projection of LCFC players Riyad Mahrez & Jamie Vardy and the city's cathedral all bathed in blue light.

Starling Murmuration

I traveled to the village of Woodford just across the border in Northamptonshire to witness one of natures must see events a Starling Murmuration. Thousands of the tiny birds created a stunning sight as they flocked together above the village creating a mass that looked like one large flowing, living cloud reminiscent of a shoal of fish in the sea their movements where hypnotic in their fluidity. Look out for red kites on the edges of the flock circling like sharks ready to grab any unfortunate starling who gets separated from the mass. More images follow

Around Wistow

A look at the wildlife and scenery in and around the Leicestershire village of Wistow, look out for the beautiful Grade 2 listed St Luke's church in Newton Harcourt surrounded by snowdrops and a pair of acrobatic squirrels perched precariously on the end of a branch. You`ll also ask yourself just what is that phone box doing in the middle of the woods ?. More images follow

Leicestershire Floods

A look at the flooded fields in the whistle meadows area of Leicestershire. After several days of heavy rain the fields around Narborough, Croft and Huncote known as Whistle Meadows due to the disused railway (whistle way) than runs alongside, became flooded after the river soar burst its banks. The flooded fields stretch away into the distance broken only by the Leicester to Birmingham railway line and the occasional tree, gate or fence. Ducks and wildlife usually confined to the river boundaries can be seen throughout enjoying the extra space. Images Follow

Fernie Hunt - Boxing Day - Great Bowden Leicestershire

Please Note: The following is posted neither in support or opposition of fox hunting, It is posted merely as a documentation of an event taking place in the county of Leicestershire, therefore I ask that all views are respected in the comments where posted thank you.  The Fernie hunt meet like many others in the county of Leicestershire and across the country on boxing day in and around the village of Great Bowden annually and is a tradition that has roots going back many centuries recent changes to laws governing the event mean that the hunt now meets in the village before following a sent trail around the local countryside my film shows the hunt leader leaving the kennels with the hounds before meeting the rest of the hunt on the village green later we see the riders and hounds approaching a halt just outside the village before riding away following the scent trail.
