A Very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to all, here is a virtual card for your virtual fireplace !.

Christmas at Covent Garden was filmed on 18th December 2011 at London's Covent Garden Market. The Market had been decked with giant baubles and mirror balls that threw snow like points of light around the historic buildings arches and upon the crowds who where taking in the festive atmosphere. Outside the main market area stood a giant topiary reindeer and Christmas tree with a large red bow tied around its wooden base, these festive icons where accompanied by the hustle of visitors taking in the performances of the multitude of street performers the area is famous for. A unique aroma of deep yellow Paella and sweet Chestnuts roasting on an open fire filled our senses in the second hall whist an opera singer serenaded a gathering crowd. The famous Apple market selling (despite its name) sold an eclectic selection of craft items from photographs of typical English scenes to the usual London bus tourist souvenirs. The beat officer for Victoria Park (and two of Santa`s helpers) show off their moves during the Zumba warm up before The Great Leicester Santa run in aid of when you wish upon a star. I featured the run itself on my previous post which you can see Here .

The Great Leicester Santa Run is held every year in Victoria park Leicester and raises funds for the when you wish upon a star foundation. The event sees hundreds of people dressed as Santa complete a course around the park and has been taking place for several years. My video features all the action from the start of the race which was signalled by Leicester City Legend Steve Walsh, footage of the race itself and concludes with the local policeman for Victoria park handing out the medals at the end.

This years Christmas cards feature a variety of scenes on the theme of frost and snow, taken at various locations around the local area some the cards also feature a line from famous Christmas carols written in a retro 80s style typeface and set at a 45 degree angle, complementing the composition of each photograph.

Poster designed for the Menphys Children for Children Carol Concert 2011 to be held at De Monfort hall Leicester Friday 2nd December 2011 at 7.15 Tickets are available from Kerry Giles, Menphys, 238, Narborough Road, Leicester, LE3 2AN, Taking its design cues and style from a number of other posters to be displayed over the Christmas period by the charity the poster replaces the letter O with Christmas puddings and features a unique QR code for interested people to scan and request tickets directly from the poster !.

A Poster designed for Wigston friends of local charity's christmas market in aid of Menphys and the Meningitis trust taking place at age concern in wigston on 26th November 2011, using a retro style combined with a comic book style typeface and an icy blue colour scheme, this poster has been designed to sit alongside a number of other Menphys posters to be displayed over the holiday season that share the same colour scheme.

As part of Leicester City's annual remembrance day fixture, it has become tradition for the games match ball to be delivered to the ground by helicopter whilst veterans and serving soldiers line the edge of the pitch. This video (shot an a smart phone) shows the approach, landing and departure of the helicopter as well as the presentation of the match ball to the officials. the presentation was followed by a silence and the players wore poppy's embroidered on their playing shirts.

A Short film by me featuring action from Saturday`s Wales Rally GB Sweet Lamb stage and its water splash. Wales Rally GB is the final round of the WRC and sees the worlds top rally drivers competing over a series of stages in the hills and valleys of Wales, Various models of car are used and are based on their road going counterparts but all have been highly modified for the demanding and fast paced motor sport of rallying. see some photos from the day after the jump. > Some images from the Wales rally GB Sweet lamb stage.  

End of the Line - The Last Night of the Classic Blackpool Trams, details the end of the Blackpool Tramway in its current form. The 6th November 2011 saw the end of the Blackpool tramway. As part of ongoing work on the famous seafront the tramway and its trams are due to be replaced by newer more modern variants, So against the backdrop of the famous illuminations the classic trams had one last night of operation before returning to the depot destined to end their days in rail museums and scrap heaps.
